Kiss the beaches, climb the hills and hug the clouds.

From Mumbai to Koyna hills. Via the unspoilt beaches on the Konkan coast. A 4-day road trip with spur-of-the-moment detours, searches for a place to stay, warm hosts at homestays and much more...

Day 1
On the first day, after many stopovers and change of plans, we ended up at Guhagar, though we had booked a hotel at Chiplun. Staying with a hospitable local family was the highlight of the day.

Guhagar is about 300 km from Mumbai and about 200 km from Pune. Clean beaches are its USP.

At Khed, we get off from the Goa highway, take a detour to Dapoli and Harnai.

Day 2 - Guhagar - Velneshwar - Chiplun - Koyna

After enjoying all the popular and not-so-popular places on the way, we hit Chiplun late in the afternoon. This made the homestay owner at Koyna Nagar restless, thinking we might ditch him. We reached there just in time to freshen up and enjoy the sunset.
